  • I can recommend Marius and his Team very well. The care of this team all around the trip, the sightseeing and in the evening was extremely friendly and obliging. They were very flexible in everything and made this trip to an easy and pleasant experience in Romania, we would like to come back. Marc
  • Our guide Marius was excellent both in guiding and giving riding tips. He provided a wonderful excursion up into the mountains above Brasov. We went higher than I thought I could ride, and his instructions improved my mountain biking skills, both climbing and descending. What a lovely day we had! Thank you and I highly recommend this tour. Denise, Portland, Oregon USA

Why only walk through Brașov county if you can ride above it? Braşov is one of the most scenic towns in România, the place at the foot of the mountains, the place we call home. Some of us are born and raised here so we cannot be objective when talking about it. Who else could be a better guide to this beautiful city if not a local?

Join us in discovering some of the best mtb trails from Postăvaru and Piatra Craiului Mountains. No matter if you are a beginner or a pro, there is room for everyone.  We’ll blend the bike tours with the cultural tours so you can enjoy the best Transylvania has to offer. Just hop on your bike and enjoy the ride!

Marius Strătilă, your guide  Mountain Guide & MIAS Mountain Bike Leader

I’m specialised in mountain guiding for splitboarding  and mountain biking. In the winter that means taking people backcountry splitboarding and teaching the skills associated with this activity while in the summer it means finding the perfect route for my clients to ride. No matter the season,  this job meets my passions: the freedom to climb on your own, to define your route and follow it, the power to use your body strength to move forward and to enjoy downhill rides and fresh turns – this is what defines me and what I want to share. I’ve always enjoyed passing on knowledge and skills to others therefore I took the best parts from my riding days and implemented them in the tourist packages I offer to people who like a holiday to be more than a visit of the city. Every time I try to facilitate experiences beyond the travelers’ wildest dreams.

Tour itinerary:

Day 0, Arriving to Braşov

On first day we get to know each other. We need to decide together the itineraries for the next days, so it’s time for a briefing! After that you deserve a long night of rest to be prepared for  a fresh morning full of good lines.

Day 1, Curmătura & Bear Sanctuary Zărneşti

We’ll start our day by driving to the bears’ sanctuary in Zărneşti . Libearty Bear Sanctuary is the biggest brown bear sanctuary from Europe and has the largest surface in the world. The sanctuary was created in 1998 by Cristina Lapis because of the need to rescue over 50 bears found suffering in small and rusted cages around the country where they had been used as pets or as attractions for restaurants and petrol stations. The bears were all caught from the wild as cubs and had lived all their lives in confined cages with a poor diet and little or no veterinary care. This practice of keeping captive bears was illegal in Romania but until the bear sanctuary was created the authorities were unable to confiscate these bears due to the lack of facilities available to care for rescued animals. Now that dream is being realised  over 70 bears enjoying a new life in 70 hectares of oak and hazel forest.

We’ll continue our journey to Curmătura hut (1470 m) through Zărneşti gorge. Lunch will be served there and then we’ll be enjoying a single track descent through meadows and pine forests to Botorog’s Fontaine. Depending on the our schedule we’ll also pass through Măgura village, a beautiful place surrounded by mountains and then descent to Bran village, home of the famous Dracula castle.

Day 2, Postăvaru Mountain & Braşov City

The mountain in our backyard. Having 10 different trails, all accessible by cable car or shuttle access, we’ll definitely find the perfect path for every rider’s taste. Just like the day before, we’ll be having lunch at Postăvaru Hut (1604 m) with a stunning view of Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains. The best part? A whole day of riding, ending with a cold beer in Brasov city center.
